When you’re not working, what do you spend your time doing?
I enjoy working on our little farm, ‘Scottland’ – I am also a volunteer lifesaver and like to stay healthy by running and swimming.

What’s your favourite thing about living in Carbrook?
I love that we are around 10 minutes from the Hyperdome, Sirromet Winery and about 40 or so minutes to the city or the coast. We feel like we are miles from everywhere, but close to everything.

If someone was to visit your area, what are the top 3 things you recommend they do?

• Visit the Sirromet Winery
• Daisy Hill Forest (for the Koala’s alone) 
• And of course, a home loan review with our team! 

Important question that everyone will want to know the answer to - if you’re going for dinner/breakfast/coffee somewhere in your area, where are you going?

For breakfast, I like Extraction Coffee at Slacks Creek (who are one of our clients) and for lunch, Christoper’s at Daisy Hill (also a client, but where I used to work when I was at high school!) and for dinner, it’s hard to go past our local Thai or Fitzy’s Restaurant.

What is your favourite thing about being a Mortgage Broker?
It would have to be First Home Buyers – especially if they have been told no by their current bank. I love being part of that journey into their first home, it’s special.

Did you always know that you wanted to be a Mortgage broker? What was your past experience before joining the team? How many years experience do you have in the finance industry as a mortgage broker?
No, I had never thought of working in the insurance and or finance industry, I actually worked in the media for channel 10 when I left school (1989) and they went into receivership so I had to get a ‘real’ job, so I started working at the CBA on a 12 month contract, before taking a role with Suncorp and then moving to Sydney, working for the CBA in their insurance arm, followed by Allianz, before returning to the lending industry with ING and finally back to Brisbane, starting Cube Home Loans in 2005. In 2023, I started my 33rd year in the insurance and finance industry and am proud to have numerous awards including 2016 Credit Representative of the Year, 2019 All Round Broker of the Year and have led our team to win the Best Independent Office, winning in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020 & 2023 as well as a number of other awards state and nationally.
